The cheery Ata is an İzmir resident turned fisherman who catches and cooks the fish suppers he and his wife Evren serve to guests along with their home-grown vegetables. Their place stands in splendid isolation. Karaburun is a good few kilometres away, the bright lights of Lesbos even further, making this a real getting-away-from-it-all hideaway. The Karaburun Peninsula is located on the Turkish Aegean coast at the entry of the Bay of Izmir. Northern of the Karaburun Peninsula lies the Greek island of Lesbos and westwards the island of Chios (15 miles).

As explained by looking at the sea Karaburun position to be in circulation because of the water, has a clean sea. Due to bad weather conditions and turbulent wave conditions outside, the sea is very clear. . Due to steep mountains with rocky beaches rather than the Karaburun, has attracted attention in terms of underwater wealth. Reviews
The hotel is situated at a spot a little beyond the end of the asphalt road, and feels like the end of the world. Or of Turkey, at least. Great to spend some solitary time alone with the sea, while also being able to count on good, rich dinner and breakfast. Nice terrace, lovely views, very very kind and warm hosts. The Service and welcome made the stay very relaxing and the food was wonderful on account of being incredibly fresh, well prepared, local and plentiful. An ideal base to enjoy the unspoilt area of Karaburun. (from the booking.com)

As a woman travelling alone, there are certain things you pay attention even though you try to leave behind your urban worries. Am I going to get too much unwanted attention; is there going to be friendly faces if I end up needing help; can I have privacy, etc....I spent three nights at Ata'nın Yeri in Karaburun, northwest of Izmir and cannot think of a more friendly and respectful place.
Karaburun is in northern the top of the peninsula close to Izmir, Turkey and is still virgin territory despite its proximity to other hot spots such as Alaçatı or Çeşme. Atanın Yeri was 10 km from Karaburun in a village called Yeniliman and stood as an amazing sole villa where I woke up every morning with the sound of waves and went to sleep with the sound of waves. The beach was literally 15 meters from my room. The room was decorated with delightful colors giving you peace. What was best was that the hotel was half pension. In other words, it included room, breakfast and dinner. And what dinner! Yummy mezes of all kinds served in small plates, fish and shripms and calamari. Drinks and lunch were extra which I also ate there for I could not be bothered to go somewhere else.
The nicest part was I was adopted by the owner Ata, various guests I met at Ata's table that I was invited and spent my time when I wanted to with them. When not, I went to long drives to discover the Karaburun peninsula or sunk in my book: Elif Safak's Baba ve Pic (Free translation: Father and Bastard). I watched the stars at night and saw even couple of shooting stars. If you have a car you should go see the lighthouse (Sarpıncık Feneri) but beware that that the road is a dusty, lonely, no cellphone reception route which might freak you out if you venture it -like I did- by yourself. You may end up not enjoying the great view. Preferably go with couple of people and a bottle of -pick your poison! And, the road from the Çeşme-İzmir highway is extremely curvy and at times very narrow, so beware. If you have a motorcycle or a stick shift car, it's "wow, baby"...
In 2011, I took friends and family to Ata'nın Yeri. There were some changes but only for the better with Evren and Ata's daughter Kına adding to the family atmosphere as well as our waitor Mustafa. I can only hope that it remains the cosy, tasteful and simple place it is. (from the travelmind-idilka.blogspot.com)
